Have a Holly Jolly Productive Christmas This Year

Winter break is almost here and students are ready to relax and enjoy the holiday season. But while Billikens are munching on sweets and finding the perfect gifts for everyone, it is also the perfect time to get a jump start on Summer internships and jobs.

Be Prepared

Applications for the Summer internships and jobs can sneak up students fast over the course of the Spring semester, so it is a great idea to start early. Preparing for internships is half the work, but spending an hour here and there will pay off.

Make yourself a to do list over winter break with all the things you want to do. Fill it with fun activities and a few productive tasks.

Here are some things you can work on that will increase your chances of snatching that dream internship:

  • Edit or create your resume
  • Update your LinkedIn profile and build connections
  • Send a few networking emails
  • Search for internship and job opportunities

Start Applying

Many companies have started recruiting and interviewing applicants early! Summer intern interviews take place early Spring but the application process might have begun months earlier. Take a look at the diverse internship and job opportunities on Handshake and apply to the ones that interest you.
